Release Brendan Lillis Now!

Brendan Lillis is a prisoner in Maghaberry jail in the North, he is close to death, weighing only 5.5 stone and having an estimated 10 days to live. His partner has pleaded for support as she watches Brendan slowly die. There is a media blackout and can no longer speak nor move, and is confined to his bed, in a prison cell with no windows.

Brendan is a former republican prisoner from West Belfast who was released on license in 1992 after serving around 16 years for alleged possession of guns and explosives.  In 2009 the secretary of state revoked his license after appearing on court on a robbery related charge.  This means, Brendan will have to serve out his life sentence for unconnected charges in the 1970s.

It was reported in the Andersonstown News that he suffers from a  medical condition- debilitating arthritic illness ankylosing spondylitis, which leads to a curvature in the spine and causes the body to produce excess bone mass.

In recent years, many former political prisoners licenses such as Marion Price have been revoked on the word of unelected and unaccountable Secretary of State.  This is an indictment on the entire apparatus of a criminal state and justice system which is designed to criminalise and intimidate all forms of opposition. It is also a sad reflection on the unjust and oppressive prison system which costs lives every year.

Demand the immediate release of Brendan Lillis on humanitarian grounds.

The United Nations security council is responsible for the death of Palestinians

un.jpg

The United Nations security council is not only responsible for the bombings with uranium weapons of Libya.  It is also responsible for the Palestinians killed by Israeli settlers...

On November 15, 2010, U.S. President Barack Obama praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for urging his cabinet to accept a U.S. proposal to extend a freeze on West Bank settlement building for 90 days.
Under the plan, Washington would block UN resolutions critical of Israel, and supply Israel with fighter jets worth $3 billion. The US government also promisedIsrael that after the 90-day moratorium, they would not seek an extension, and settlement construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem (all of which is illegal under international law) could continue unabated.

In February 2011, more than 100 nations voted for a U.N. resolution that would have condemned illegal Israeli settlements and halted any new construction. The United States vetoed it.

On February 19, 2011, Israel said it was deeply grateful to the United States after it vetoed a United Nations resolution put forward by the Palestinian leadership condemning Israeli settlement activity.

FOR A FREE AN INDEPENDANT LIBYA !

Fight, FREE, INDEPENDANT, LIBYA !

The Great Man-Made River (GMR, النهر الصناعي العظيم) is a network of pipes that supplies water to the Sahara Desert in Libya, from the Nubian Sandstone Aquifer System fossil aquifer. It is the world's largest underground irrigation project. It consists of more than 1,300 wells, most more than 500 m deep, and supplies 6,500,000 m3 of fresh water per day to the cities of Tripoli, Benghazi, Sirt and elsewhere. Muammar al-Gaddafi has described it as the "Eighth Wonder of the World."

Libyan’s resistance against occupation

13 June 2011 – Forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi have killed at least 25 anti-government fighters on the frontline between Ajdabiya and Brega in eastern Libya.

The so called ‘rebels’ have spent months trying to seize the strategic oil hub of Brega, which would open the road to Sirte, the Libyan leader’s home town, and from there to the capital Tripoli.

Actions against NATO bombings: Pakistan

The drones (unmanned aircraft) used by NATO for bombing Afghanistani, Pakistani and Libyan civilians are designed by Israel. The Israelis are denied entry into Afghanistan, but nevertheless, the Israeli drones provide ‘security’ for the coalition in Afghanistan. Israeli drones are used by Canada, France, Australia and Germany in Afghanistan. Today, Israeli specialists are on the air base at Ein Shemer for training the flight of “Herons” repainted in the colors of Germany. Many of Israeli military products are standard NATO-compatible.

Yelena Maglevannaya: Letter to His Royal Highness

April 20, 2011

Your Majesty, the King of Belgians!

Your prison in Bruges holds the bona fide Chechen refugee, Arbi Zarmaev, whose extradition is requested from Russia.

Not only is he facing deportation to a country where he is de facto guaranteed to be tortured and abused as happens to all Chechens in Russian jails, but I am reliably informed that in Your democratic country, he is detained in conditions far from acceptable. He was even beaten whilst in detention. The ministry afterward have tried to conceal the beatings from the public, pretending that his injuries are self inflicted.

I have never been surprised when I heard about such claims made by Russian authorities. Such events are well documented over a long period. However in Your Nation at the heart of the Europe Union which pledges all members to respect human rights openly before the world, beating a Chechen was initially impossible to believe.

In recent years, a worrying trend has emerged – more and more leading European countries have refrained from sheltering Chechen refugees. Would this action be defended in the interests of keeping “good relations” with Russia, and lives have become bargaining chips?

The extradition of Chechen refugees in Russia issue should, in my opinion, be once and forever prohibited, regardless of the charges against them, because they have not the slightest chance of a fair trial in that country. On the contrary, they face unreasonably long period of detention coupled with systematic beatings, torture, and almost inevitable death in prison as a result of these tortures and inhumane detention conditions.

Therefore, according to the Human Rights, it is essential that the Western democracies declare, not in only in words, that Russia is a country which does not respected the most basic right – the right to life – and assure in fact the extradition of anyone to this country carries the burden of responsibility for the consequences that follow.

First and foremost, this particularly relates to the Chechens, who, as a rule, from the standpoint of international law in general were not guilty of any thing under wartime conditions, in defending their homeland from occupation.

Your Majesty, I beg your audience of the arguments for the defence to release Arbi Zarmaev with Your Royal Protection and once and forever forbid his extradition to Russia. Europe should reaffirm the integrity of its stand on human rights that has always been accorded primary attention and have been rigorously enforced.

Arbi Zarmaev: ministre violates principle of seperation of capacities

Today, April 15, 2011, the case Zarmaev will be reviewed by the Council Chamber.

What is special about this case is that as advocates of Arbi Zarmaev explain, the prisoner had to be released after six months in prison. This raises the question why this month he finished his 21th month in prison under circumstances we can not imagine, involving torture and total isolation which destroyed his health.

The most remarkable thing in this case is the role played by the Justice Minister Stefaan De Clerck.   De Clerck will extradite this man to Russia, despite the decision of the Court of Appeal of Ghent, which decided to cancel the extradition, because of serious violations of human rights and torture in Russians prisons and the inability of the European Court to control prison conditions in Russian prisons to the fact that it has no access to these prisons.

Why De Clerck will extradite this man to a country where the death penalty is still practiced ?   The European treaties make it clear that Belgium can not extradite people to such countries.

Why Minister De Clerck does not respect the judgments of the Court of Justice that has the exclusive right to hear the case?  It is a violation of  the principle of separation of the capacities as the minister himself decides.

A minister can not take the place of a court of Justice. It would in fact mean the end of the rule of law and the uselessness of the courts.

If Mr. Arbi Zarmaev dies in prison, the political fault that Minister De Clerck would have committed, is very serious.

What's the Royal Palace in Brussels thinking about the torture of Arbi Zarmaev ?

IMG_0025.JPG

Today, we had planned with 30 Chechens an action for the liberation of Arbi who is still isolated in the most horrible circumstances, in the prison of Bruges.

When we arrived at the Royal Palace in Brussels, there were about 40 policemen in 3 special police cars who were waiting us.

It was the same police force (with also members of the secret police) as 14 days ago when we were coming together at the buildings of the European Parliament.

They forbidded us to spread leaflets and to make photos.

They repeated all the time that we ‘needed a permission for this manifestation’.

It is on this way that every news about Arbi is blocked by the Belgian authorities and the Belgian minister Stefaan De Clerck (christen-democratic party) who made a deal with the Russian government for Arbi’s transportation to Russia.

The association Pax Christi said on 8.4.2011 that the European Council (ERC) didn’t accept that Arbi should be detained in a Russian or Chechenen prison because there was a serious risk that he would be tortured and murdered as was the case with a lot of other Chechens.
The Belgian minister of Justice and the Belgian Council were relativating this risk all the time. But how can they relativate it if they could not even prevent that Arbi was tortured in the prisons of Hasselt and Bruges ? How can they relativate it while Arbi is totally isolated and treated with psychiatric drugs in a Belgian prison ?

We have contacted the european authorities but they want to cover up this case because they will prove that we are living in a ‘free and democratic’ Europe (which tolerate torture practices in european prisons).

We contacted also the European Comitee Against Torture and the UN Comitee Against Torture but they didn’t reply while the Belgian State was regularely condamned for torture practices in its prisons.

Arbi’s family is very afraid. She thinks that Arbi will not leave alive the prison in Bruges. During almost 14 days the Belgian authorites are blocking every social contact of Arbi. 24 hours on 24 hours he is closed up and they are making him mad with psychiatric drugs.

The family will not stop their actions. New and better organized actions without infiltration of the Belgian secret police are already planned.

Libya fights back: ship with humanitarian aid for Gaza

Our Libyan Charity Foundation organized in June 2010 a ship with aid for Gaza. The ship was blocked by Israel, Greece (member of the NATO) and Egypt.
Greece and Egypt are closely related to the U.S. and Israel.
I don’t understand why everybody is demonizing my father. The U.S. are delivering for billions of dollars to Israel. Israel uses this money for weapons and air planes. All the U.N. resolutions critical of Israel. are actually blocked by the U.S. and its allies. That’s why Palestinian people are driven from their homes and why Gaza is bombed.

They accuse my father from bombing ‘his own people’…
In 1986 the US launched air strikes on Libya.
At least 100 people have died after USA planes bombed targets in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, and the Benghazi region.

Arbi’ye Özgürlük !

Bu yazı 23 Mart 2011 Çarşamba tarihinde yazıldı. Şimdiye kadar 38 defa okundu.. (Yorum Yok)

Problems with Wordpress

Facebook.Wordpress1.jpgDEACTIVATION OF PALESTINE BLOG BY WORDPRESS: COMPLAINT

Sender: werkgroepmorkhoven@gmail.com
To: Wordpress support
Date: 17 januari 2011
Subject: unacceptable deactivation of my Palestine blog

Dear Sir,

I clicked on http://palest.wordpress.com/

And I saw that my blog was deactivated without any reason (I published no messages during the last weeks.

It is true that I published critical articles about Israel's violation of human rights and its Apartheid policy.
I did that but I am certainly not anti-Semitic.

I showed that Facebook that works closely together with Wordpress, violated continuously its own statements of Rights and Responsibilities by accepting that on a so called Helen Thomas Group (that is now closed), organized hate campaigns against Muslims and Palestinians and abused profiles of FB members for pornographic collages and videos.
But I have the right to do that.

What I tell you, I can prove it because I made copies of all my publications.

So I expect that Wordpress will activate my blog again.

Marcel Vervloesem: Minister De Clerck laat problemen aanslepen

Marcel_nieuwsblad_001

Human Rights: Skynet problems

We thank the Consumer Service of Skynet for her efforts concerning our hacked blogs. The problems appear to have not fully resolved.
Everywhere you see the attached message, the picture has disappeared.

---

There are many problems with our Skynet blogs. Pictures seem to disappear or are made invisible for a while. There is a complaint with the direction of Belgacom-Skynet.
Belgacom is the government-owned telecom service provider of Belgium and belongs to a special class of Belgian state-owned utility companies (it had a state monopoly).
The company act as a commercial concern and pointed out, its strengths in international communications helped Brussels to attract companies like Hewlett-Packard and British Petroleum, to set up their international headquarters there (next the headquarters for NATO and the EEC).

Problemen met deze blog: klacht bij Skynet

DeClerck1

NEW WAR IN THE MIDDLE EAST: WELL PREPARED PROVOCATION

Israel and the U.S.A. used the scandalous attack on the Gaza flotilla on 31 May 2010 and the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1929 on 9 June 2010, to provoke the arabian states, the Islamic World and Iran.
Brazil, Turkey and Lebanon were against the additional sanctions and said that the sanctions were a 'failure of diplomacy'.
As expected, on 17 June, during the heads of state and government leaders, the European Council and the european countries approved the new sanctions against Iran. They played the game.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev criticised the unilateral US and EU sanctions on Iran that go beyond those approved by the UN Security Council. But following months of US-led 'diplomacy', Russia agreed.

Let us hope that international protests will stop these new war crimes of Israel and Washington...

Stop Israeli Apartheid !

Persecution of Palestinian citizens recalls S. Africa apartheid repression
Adri Nieuwhof and Bangani Ngeleza, The Electronic Intifada, 19 May 2010

A South African is carried away after being injured by police at an anti-apartheid demonstration in Cape Province, 1985. (UN Photo)

Two weeks after Israel imposed a travel ban on him, Ameer Makhoul, a well-respected Palestinian leader holding Israeli citizenship, was kidnapped from his home on 6 May in the middle of the night. The persecution of Makhoul brings back memories of the South Africa apartheid regime: he has been heldincommunicado and was not allowed access to his lawyer for two weeks; a court order prohibited publication of any information on the case against Makhoul for 90 days; and the so-called evidence justifying the “security charges” against Makhoul remains secret. During the South Africa anti-apartheid movement, similar tactics were used against those advocating for freedom and equal rights, who were accused of terrorism and having links with the Soviet Union.

The detention of Ameer Makhoul follows a wave of repression of Palestinian leaders and activists resisting the occupation in the West Bank, and he is not the only Palestinian community leader in Israel to be receiving such treatment. Internationally-renowned pharmacologist Dr. Omar Said was detained two weeks before Makhoul and a gag order was used to silence the media. Detentions and gag orders are imposed by Israel to intimidate and harass those who speak out and campaign for freedom and equal rights.

The secrecy around the detention of Makhoul and Said is disturbing, because there is no way to determine if their rights are being respected, and human rights organizations have documented Israel’s systematic abuse of Palestinian political prisoners’ rights. Makhoul wasn’t even present for the closed-door hearing at the Petach Tikva court during which his detention was extended. Meanwhile, Said has been subjected to continuous interrogation and allowed a very limited amount of sleep since his arrest on 24 April. Makhoul’s attorneys suspect that Makhoul was subject to torture during the 12 days he was prevented from meeting with his legal defense team, and the lawyers’ request for the court to release Makhoul’s medical records was refused.

The gag order prevents the Israeli press from exposing the secret “evidence” behind Israel’s espionage allegations against Makhoul and Said. Similar accusations drove former Knesset member and community leader Azmi Bishara into self-imposed exile to avoid ending up in prison. Hussein Abu Hussein, a lawyer who has defended several Palestinians in Israel against charges of spying, told the Israeli daily Haaretz that espionage laws in Israel were so wide-ranging that an Internet chat or telephone conversation with anyone in an “enemy state” could lead to prosecution. However, Israel’s strategy of branding the Palestinian struggle for freedom and equal rights as “terrorist” is not new and the similarities between Israel’s behavior and apartheid South Africa’s oppression of anti-apartheid activists are striking.

South Africa’s Terrorism Act No. 83 of 1967 allowed for the indefinite detention of an individual for terrorism, which was very broadly defined to include anyone they suspected of being engaged or involved in any act against the state. Persons could be held indefinitely since the act allowed detention until all questions were satisfactorily answered or until no further useful purpose would be achieved by keeping the person in detention. The act gave the state the authority to interrogate and to extract information while the public and the families of detainees were not entitled to any information including even the identity or whereabouts of persons detained. Detainees could literally and effectively disappear.

This legislation effectively gave the state license to take away activists’ human rights and avoid accountability. Many were kidnapped and imprisoned under this legislation; this law was invoked in the kidnapping and sentencing of Eric Ngeleza and some of his comrades in 1977 for their membership with the banned African National Congress (ANC) and for facilitating the safe passage of freedom fighters into ANC camps outside South Africa. They were branded as terrorists, interrogated and sentenced to long prison terms on Robben Island. In Ngeleza’s case, it would be ten years before he was reunited with his family. This fate should not be allowed to befall Makhoul, Said and many other activists whose only “crime” is demanding equal rights in the land of their birth.

The new Israeli military order — order 1650, for the “Prevention of Infiltration” — also parallels apartheid South Africa’s racist pass laws. The military order defines anyone who enters the West Bank illegally as an infiltrator, as well as a person who is present in the area and does not lawfully hold a permit. The current South African government protested the order as “a gross violation of an individual’s human rights,” comparing it the notoriously oppressive policy of the apartheid era.

Israel’s treatment of Makhoul and Said, so similar to the application of the Terrorism Act in South Africa and other oppressive measures, confirm that Israel is an apartheid state that has no regard for the rights of its own citizens. It is long overdue for Israel, like apartheid South Africa in its time, to be declared a pariah state and isolated until it agrees to respect human rights.

Adri Nieuwhof and Bangani Ngeleza are independent consultants from Switzerland and South Africa, respectively. Nieuwhof supported the South African anti-apartheid struggle as a member of the Holland Committee on Southern Africa. Ngeleza participated in the liberation struggle as an activist with the African National Congress. When he was 11, his father Eric Ngeleza was sentenced to ten years on Robben Island.

Janan Abdu’s Speech to Solidarity Rally Protesting Detention of Ameer Makhoul Kafr Kanna 13 May 2010:

On behalf of my family and friends, allow me, through this platform, to send a message of admiration and love to my beloved husband Ameer Makhoul, and my friend and brother Omar Saeed, for their steadfastness and say to them: "You are rocks.. Let no wind shake you!”

I wish to thank you, individuals and institutions, for your support and love, and your work that stems from a belief that Omar and Ameer’s case is not a personal issue, but the issue of all Palestinians in Israel.

Your support and love bolster our and their strength and resilience. To the Shin Bet, which effectively controls and runs all the state’s institutions, ties the hands of the courts, and constricts the freedom of the press…

To the Shin Bet, which, through Ameer and Omar, is trying to send a message to all of us, people, leaders and families, I say: You did not and will not succeed. By arresting Omar, abducting Ameer from his house under the cover of night, and detaining the two in conditions reminiscent of apartheid practices, the Shin Bet unmasks the true face of this racist regime.

Those who break into people's homes, wreaking havoc in them and restraining a wife and two daughters.. they are the ones who are afraid. These repressive practices, the use of emergency laws, and the violation of fundamental human and civil rights will only make us and Ameer and Omar stronger and more unified.

Ours is a strong and tenacious people. Ours is a people with a strong identity and solid backbone that will keep us standing.

Let them know that their attempts at obliterating our identity, and preventing our natural and legitimate outreach to the Palestinian people and Arab countries will only make us more determined to defend our rights and the justness of our cause.

They kidnapped Ameer to silence him, because he defends freedoms and exposes the reality of their practices. The abduction of Chairman of the Popular Committee for the Defense of Political Freedoms in an attempt silence his voice only takes place in a terrorist state. It does not occur in a state of law, nor in a country that claims to be democratic!

Finally, I say to them: The Arab world is not our enemy, and will never be! Their policies aimed at gagging our mouths will not intimidate us. On the contrary, they will make us stronger because ours is a just cause and we are the rightful owners of this land.

If they wish for this country to turn into a large Guantanamo, we say: Your prisons cannot hold all of us! No prison in the world can hold an entire people. So let them bring it on!

Ameer Makhoul and Omar Said, we salute you

Al Nakba: ethnic cleansing

Palestinian_refugees

The narrative of the Jewish state began with an ethnic cleansing in 1948, which aimed to erase the history of an entire people and falsely create that of another.

The Palestinian Exile, also known as Al Nakba (Arabic for "The Catastrophe"), refers to the ethnic cleansing during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war.

From December 1947 until November 1948,
Zionist forces (namely the Irgun, Lehi, Haganah terrorist gangs) expelled approximately 750, 000 indigenous Palestinians—almost 2/3 of the population—from their homes.

Free Ameer Makhoul and Omar Said !

childrenHope1

Amnesty International's support to get free the palestinian human rights activists Ameer Makhoul and Omar Said, is the first step in the right direction although there are 7000 other Palestinians, including many young people, in Israeli prisons.

I have a lot of respect for associations like American Jews For A Just Peace (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Arlington-MA/American-Jews-For-A-Just-Peace/29377854397), Jews Against Zionismאנו דוחים את תוקפו של רכישת הציוני בירושלים (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Brooklyn-NY/Jews-Against-Zionism/205444216818?ref=ts) and Jewish Voice for Peace (http://www.facebook.com/JewishVoiceforPeace?ref=ts) who really have the courage to openly criticize their government and to organize all kinds of actions.
They are the only hope for the Middle East and the future generations.
They are the only answer to the hopeless cycle of violence and hate which the Israeli government uses to maintain her boundless power.

ISRAEL MUST STOP HARASSMENT OF HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDER

12 May 2010

Amnesty International has called on the Israeli authorities to end their harassment of a human rights activist whose week-long detention by the Israeli authorities was extended today.

Ameer Makhoul, a Palestinian citizen of Israel, was arrested in a dawn raid at his home in Haifa, northern Israel, by the Israeli security services and police on 6 May. He has been charged with "contact with a foreign agent" on the basis of “secret evidence”.

"Ameer Makhoul is a key human rights defender, well-known for his civil society activism on behalf of the Palestinian citizens of Israel," said Philip Luther, Deputy Director of Amnesty International's Middle East and North Africa Programme.

"His arrest and continued detention smacks of pure harassment, designed to hinder his human rights work. If this is the case, we would regard him as a prisoner of conscience call for his immediate and unconditional release.”

Ameer Makhoul has been denied legal advice throughout his detention. The doctor at the prison where he is held has informed his lawyer that he is suffering from pains in his head.

On the morning of his arrest, Ameer Makhoul was taken to Petah Tikva interrogation centre and, at a hearing the same day, his detention was authorized for six days. Today it was extended until 17 May.

According to Ameer's wife, Janan Makhoul, during the raid on their home, security forces confiscated mobile phones, laptops, a camera, and documents.

The same morning, members of the Israeli security forces also raided the office of the association Ittijah in Haifa, where Ameer Makhoul works.

Ameer Makhoul had already been banned from travelling for two months on 21 April by the Israeli Minister of the Interior Eli Yishai, who said at the time that Ameer Makhoul’s exit from the country “poses a serious threat to the security of the state”.

The Palestinian activist was only made aware of the ban when he attempted to leave Israel on 22 April, where he was scheduled to begin a series of meetings with civil society activists in Jordan.

When Amnesty International spoke to Ameer Makhoul in late April he expressed his concern that the travel ban was part of a broader pattern of state repression against the peaceful political activities of Palestinian citizens of Israel, justified under "security concerns".

In January 2009, the Israeli Central Election Committee banned the National Democratic Assembly (NDA), a party which currently holds three seats in the Israeli parliament and calls for Israel to be "a state for all its citizens", and the United Arab List, which has four parliamentary representatives, from standing in Israel’s general elections under the claim that the parties supported terrorism and "did not recognize Israel's existence as a Jewish and democratic state".

The Committee’s ban on the two parties was subsequently overturned by the Israeli High Court.

On 24 April, Omar Said, an activist with the NDA was detained by the Israeli authorities.

Initially a gagging order was imposed on the Israeli press to prevent reporting of Ameer Makhoul’s and Omar Said’s detentions.

The lifting of the order led to reports in the Israeli media on Monday that the arrests of both men related to accusations of spying and contact with a foreign agent from Lebanese group Hizbullah.

Ameer Makhoul has been the General Director of Ittijah, which works on behalf of the Palestinian community in Israel, since its foundation in 1995.

He is also the chair of the Public Committee for the Defence of Political Freedom within the Arab Higher Monitoring Committee in Israel.

"In the unlikely event that there are genuine grounds to prosecute Ameer Makhoul he should be charged with recognizable criminal offences and brought promptly to trial in full conformity with international fair trial standards," said Philip Luther.

BACKGROUND

On May 6, 2010 at 6 am the Israeli General Security Service accompanied by Israeli police raided his home in Haifa and arrested him. Makhoul is still not allowed to see his lawyer.

Ameer Makhoul’s arrest, detention and a previously imposed travel ban are based on emergency regulations and “secret” information that is never disclosed to the defense. They are a flagrant violation of the UN Declaration and the EU guidelines on Human Rights Defenders. Palestinian human rights of freedom of movement, freedom of expression, freedom of assembly and association as well as the right to protection from arbitrary arrest are daily violated.

Israel blatantly disregards all democratic principles in order to prevent Palestinian – and indeed all - civil society to speak out and to crush the popular movement to defend the rights and existence of the Palestinian people.

Mr. Makhoul’s case is only one example amidst a recent escalated campaign by Israeli authorities against Palestinian human rights defenders and civil resistance. In addition to arbitrary arrest and detention, Israeli authorities have applied travel bans against a number of Palestinian human rights defenders in recent months.

Israeli authorities have also started to target Palestinian, Israeli and international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) as part of their wider campaign against Palestinian human rights defenders. Measures used include raids of organizations’ offices, deportation of organization staff and volunteers, a new policy of visa denials for international NGO workers, and pending legislation in the Knesset that would enable the Israeli government to close down any organization that gives information to foreign actors or participates in legal efforts outside Israel to try Israeli officials for war crimes.
